Interview with Cruelty-Free Phyrra

Editor-in-Chief | Phyrra
Phyrra: Beauty for the Bold
VMS: Whats your ig name/s? @Phyrra

VMS: What’s your real name? Courtney

VMS: Are you vegan? How long? I’m not vegan, but my blog is a cruelty free beauty blog and I support cruelty free and vegan brands.

VMS: Why did you become cruelty free? I went cruelty free in 2012 when MAC started selling in China and testing on animals. I was devastated by this so it pushed me into going cruelty free.

VMS:What does Cruelty-Free mean to you? For me cruelty free means no testing on animals and not selling in China. I support cruelty free brands even if their parent company is not cruelty free because I believe it will lead to the eventual elimination of animal testing. I do understand that all ingredients were tested on animals at one time, but that does not mean that we need to be barbaric and still test on animals. I also understand that this is a very personal choice for people so with my blog I try to provide cruelty free options without judging or saying ‘you suck for not using cruelty free’.

VMS: What’s your other social media?

VMS: What are your favorite colors? I love black and purple, black and teal, and black and fuchsia. Basically I always love black with pops of color.

VMS: Where are you based from? I’m in Tampa, Florida.

VMS: What are your current vegan product favorites?

Creestaaal Sanchez is an inspirational second generation Latina resident of Moreno Valley, California. She decided to go vegan almost 7 years ago and she has never looked back. It was difficult for her to transition to veganism because of her family’s disapproval of her decision, until today they don’t approve that she doesn’t eat “meat.” Latino food is laden with meat and animal products. I know so because I am Latina too. I also know that family plays a huge role in our culture. It’s hard when your family doesn’t want to listen to your reasons and instead judges and makes fun of you because you don’t want to eat animals anymore.I think that Creestaaal’s resilience and her own experience with her family inspired her to launch Hispanic Vegans of Instagram(@hispanicvegansofig). She created a space where she promotes cruelty-free Latino recipes to prove that it’s possible for Latinos to eat our traditional foods without harming animals.Besides her endless work to help more animals by raising awareness about veganism within the Latino community, Creestaaal has rescued countless animals, her most recent rescued is a hen named Blondie. I know her calling in animal rescue work has caused some financial hardships, but her passion towards the animals is stronger than a vet bill. When I am down due to all the injustices that take place in this planet, I think about Creestaaal and the work she does. Her passion energizes me, her ability to take care of seven dogs, being a regular at animal rights protests in Southern California and more are my spark to keep fighting for the animals, and social justice.Note: Creestaaal is a published model and also runs a vegan makeup sharing instagram ( @VeganmakeupShare ), a vegan gardening instagram,( @TheVegangardener ) and she has a facebook fan page.

Interview with The Vegan Taff

The Vegan Taff

Creestaaal image by Snapsstudio)

United Kingdom Vegan Lifestyle’s Blogger

VMS: What are your ig name/s?My Instagram name is @thevegantaff

VMS: Do you have a second Instagram account?I only have one Instagram account, I did create a second a while ago but found that I was neglecting one for the other, so decided to merge them.

VMS: What is your real name?My real name is Kelly Palmer (like off King of Queens).

VMS: Are you Vegan?  I am vegan, and very proud of it too, it’s the only label I’m happy to carry.

VMS: How did you become vegan?I became vegan around 10 years ago, after being vegetarian for 15 years. I’ve always been an ‘all or nothing’ type of person, and once I started looking into animal welfare and the dairy industry more, I just couldn’t contribute to it any longer. I regret not doing it earlier though.

VMS: What does Cruelty-Free mean to you?To me, cruelty-free means causing the least harm possible, whether that’s to animals, insects or people. A lot of companies are claiming to be cruelty-free but still sell in China, where animal testing is required by law, that’s just not right! Being vegan in a non-vegan world can be very difficult, but I believe we can all do better, and every day I try to do the best I can.

VMS: What other social media’s do you run?  I have accounts on Twitter, Pinterest and a Facebook page for my blog, all of them are @thevegantaff. I also have a personal Facebook account and my Google+ account is under my name, Kelly Palmer (https://plus.google.com/+KellyPalmer1 is a link to my Google+).

VMS:What is your favorite color? My favourite colour is purple, as you may already know if you’ve seen my blog (thevegantaff.com)

VMS: Where are you based from? I am based in South Wales, UK.

VMS: What are your top Favorite Vegan& Cruelty-Free products? Trying to narrow my favourite products down from the masses I use is really difficult. I couldn’t be without Bubblegum lip scrub from Lush, Lemon and Lime lip balm from Heavenly Organics, 9 to 5 cleanser also from Lush or any of the B. skincare range from Superdrug. If we’re talking about make-up there is so much, but I love ELF, Autograph lip products and the CC Cream from GOSH.

That Vedge Life

Interview with a #vegan #makeup #artist
VMS: What are your #instagram/s names? My personal IG name is @thatvedgelife and my makeup business one is @makeup_by_chelsey
VMS: Why did you create a second ig account? I created my second account to focus solely on my makeup work. I wanted potential clients to have a place to go to see just makeup. And makeup fans as well!
VMS: What is your name? My real name is Chelsey.
VMS: Are you #Vegan? I have been vegan for over two years now! Woohoo!
VMS: Why did you become Vegan?I became vegan after noticing people on social media who kept bringing up the book Skinny Bitch and the documentary Forks Over Knives so I had to see what all the fuss was about. I was hooked and made the change immediately along with my boyfriend Eric.
VMS: What does Cruelty-Free mean to you? Cruelty-free means living happily while doing the least amount of harm to animals as possible. Cruelty-free means no harm was done at ANY animal in the process. Many companies claim they are cruelty-free but in my eyes and many others they are not. The product may not have been tested on animals but that doesn’t mean it does not contain any animal products such as glycerin, lanolin, beeswax, carmine, etc. Cruelty-free, when it comes to product manufacturers, does not always mean vegan. But it should!
VMS: What are your Social Media’s? Other than my two Instagram accounts mentioned above, I am on Facebook at facebook.com/makeupbychelsey and my website is http://www.makeupbychelsey.com 🙂
VMS: What is your Favorite color?
My favorite color is purple. I love me a purple lipstick! 😉
VMS: where are you based off from? I am located in San Diego, CA and happily serve the entire SD county area!
VMS: What are your current Vegan faves? My current vegan beauty product faves? Oh boy that’s hard! I gotta give a shout to my beloved @occmakeup lip tars. Their color palette is insane! The pigmentation and staying power of their products is impeccable. My favorite foundation at the moment is @officialelfcosmetics Flawless Finish. It’s $6 and looks like your skin but better! Perfect for normal-dry skin. Oily is okay too if you prime and set with a powder. I’m also a huge fan of Josie Maran argan oil to keep my skin hydrated and soft. @wetnwildbeauty also bangs it out with some killer MegaLast lipsticks and mascaras. Just read the labels because some products do contain carmine and beeswax. Psst! Change that please! 😉
